Langbridge Partnership

Langbridge Partnership was set up by three Scottish language graduates who have all lived and worked abroad. The company is currently a member of the Scottish Tourism Forum.

Bruce Mackenzie graduated in French and German before joining the Diplomatic Service. He served in the Middle East, learning spoken and written Arabic, and then in Europe. In 1985 he transferred to the Scottish Office in Edinburgh. On a 3 year secondment as Director of ‘Locate in Scotland’ in Tokyo he studied Japanese.

Susan Patterson graduated in Spanish and spent a year in Salamanca, Spain. A postgraduate in European Marketing with Languages, she has worked in tourism and education in Scotland. She lived in the Netherlands for six years also working in tourism.

Tom Wight graduated in French and German and spent eight years lecturing at Rouen University in France. He was senior lecturer, then Head of Department of Languages at Napier University, Edinburgh, during which time he obtained an MBA, a Diploma in Marketing and a degree in Maths and Computing.
